Virgil
was unable to attend the party
for defenders of the first amendment. To the holiday greeting card, he responded:
"'Thank you so much for the Christmas card and for the great
picture of the defenders of the 1st Amendment. I am glad that you also had
a few defenders of the 2nd Amendment in the picture'" (Virgil Goode,
Jr., December 27, 1999).
In his wry note, he did not say whether he joined the non-binding
resolution in the House of Representatives calling for the elimination
of federal funds for the Brooklyn Museum of Art if it did not cancel the
now closed 'Sensation' exhibit.
If you are interested in activities of defenders
of the 2nd amendment, Philip Van Cleave will be speaking on "The
Second Amendment and the Supreme Court" at 7:30 p.m. at Minor Hall
on January 27, 2000 at the University of Virginia.
Philip Van Cleave is the Vice President of The
Virginia Citizens Defense League. (For more information, call 983-5016.)
