Edward Daniel Loper
Family
Edward Daniel Loper (named after his father George
Edward Loper and after Daniel of old Testament fame) was born on 4 January
1977 at Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville,
Virginia at 3:51 pm. He was ten pounds six ounces and was delivered by local
obstetrician Jim Turner.
At the time of his birth, his father was employed as a Social Worker
at Blue Ridge Mental Health Centerand his mother
Ann Lewis Booker Loper was employed as a School Psychologist with the Charlottesville
Public Schools .
Edward has two brothers, Matthew
and Hoy.
Education
Edward entered St. Anne's-Belfield
School at the age of three, as one of the original members of Etta Legner's
first preschool class in the Falk House (hence the name, sandbox kids).
Sixteen years later (1995), he graduated from St. Anne's with high
honors -- receiving an Academic Team award and the Science award. He was
also accepted into the Cum Laude Society.
In the fall of 1995, Edward entered the Massachusetts
Institute of Technology , where he currently resides, getting his masters (he recently
graduated)and living off-campus in a nearby apartment.

Computer Science
- While at MIT, Edward has received letters of commendation for outstanding
performance in 6.001 - Structure and Interpretation of Computer Programs,
6.004 - Computation Structures, and 6.170 - Laboratory in Software Engineering.
- Music
- Edward's favorite bands are Moxy Fruvous, They Might Be Giants, R.E.M.,
and songs by Paul Simon.
